On Saturday, November 8 at 1:30 p.m., the 2014-2015 season opens with MIAMI MUSIC PROJECT’s “Rise of the Titans,” an epic tale of how music’s beloved composers – Shostakovich, Mussorgsky and others – have remained immortal through the creation of their masterpieces. The hour-long kid-friendly concert will bring legendary melodic themes to life in the John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall.

Prior to the performance, kids of all ages are invited to explore a “petting zoo” of musical instruments led by local high school musicians in the Peacock Education Center from noon to 1 p.m.

“Year after year, FAMILY FEST has proven to be a gateway for our diverse community of families to come together through music and interact with performers at Miami’s Town Square,” said John Richard, president and CEO of the Arsht Center. “We are looking forward to renewing the tradition each season with new, inventive programs for all ages, beginning with the addition of the ‘instrument petting zoo’ for our first show of the season.”

The Adrienne Arsht Center is located at 1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, FL
