This Week's Bits & Pieces!

Choosing Quality Childcare Plus 3 Contests for Miami-Dade County Students!

By Cynthia Yapp, Publisher January 22, 2015

Sometimes I come across really great information that doesn’t exactly fit into our article or events category but which I think should be shared with our MacKid families. So Bits & Pieces was created. If you have any Bits & Pieces you’d like to share email your Bits & Pieces to me at cynthiay@macaronikid.com

This week's Bits & Pieces is about choosing quality care for your children and three contests for Miami-Dade County students.

How to Choose Quality Care for your Children

Looking for a child care provider? Here is a checklist of what to look for and what questions to ask, as published by the Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties.

Kids Miami Poster and Video Contests

Miami-Dade County is currently running 3 contests for students. Entry deadline is February 13, 2015.

Every Drop Counts: Miami-Dade County elementary school students from kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to participate in the 7th Annual Every Drop Counts Kids Poster Contest. Using this year’s theme, It Starts With Water – Conserve It! students can express the benefits of water and energy conservation – and get a free t-shirt, with a chance to win other prizes.

Clean Up and Green Up: Miami-Dade County school students from kindergarten through 12th grade are invited to participate.

Clean Up and Green Up Video: Classes in high school are encouraged to participate. The theme this year is “How Can the Next Generation Clean Up and Green Up Our Community?” Videos will be accepted on a class basis as the grand prize will be awarded to the entire class.
