Macaroni Bits & Pieces

Miami-Dade's Bike305 plus Summer Recreation Jobs

By Cynthia Yapp, Publisher February 26, 2015

Sometimes I come across really great information that doesn’t exactly fit into our article or events category but which I think should be shared with our MacKid families. So Bits & Pieces was created.

This week's Bits & Pieces is about Miami-Dade cycling season and summer recreation jobs.

Bike305 Month celebration begins March 1

Miami-Dade’s Bike305 season is all about cycling, as the County gears up for the annual Bike305 Month celebration on March 1. During the month of March, residents are encouraged to try cycling to work, school and other destinations, as an alternative to driving on congested roadways. Cycling is a great way to exercise and see some of Miami-Dade’s scenic sites via safe, protected paved bike trails throughout the county. For more information and scheduled cycling events visit http://www.miamidade.gov/bike305/

Summer Recreation Jobs
You can be part of all the fun that’s happening at Miami-Dade Parks next summer! Applications will be accepted beginning Feb. 23 - March 22, for a variety of summer jobs including pool managers, lifeguards, swim instructors, park service aides and recreation leaders. Individuals must be at least 17 years old to apply. To apply, visit or contact the Miami-Dade park or pool where you wish to work or apply via the Miami-Dade County Online Employment application site. For more information contact the Miami-Dade County Parks’ Summer Jobs Hotline at 305-755-7898.
