Read to Learn Books Read-a-thon at the Pinecrest Library

By Lisa Palley May 28, 2019

Read to Learn Books for Free and Pinecrest Library hosted a Read-a-thon at the Pinecrest Library, 5835 SW 111 Street on Sat., May 18, 10:30am-12noon.  The event was free & open to the community. The students of Doral Prep’s National English Honor Society read one book right after another to younger kids, a storytelling Read-a-thon marathon!

Cookies & Milk, provided by Milam’s, was served.

The younger kids and their parents & siblings were encouraged to share their love of reading by bringing a gently-used children’s book to drop in the Read to Learn Books for Free bin at the Pinecrest.

These collected books stock the 65 book shelves all over town, from juvenile court to community service offices, clinics to park and community centers, providing every child who visits the shelves a free book to take home.
