Community Spotlight: The Color Bubble - Mobile Paint Studio

March 30, 2021

1.) Hi Lea! It’s so nice to meet you. Tell me about you, your history, your background and how long you have lived in Fort Lauderdale? Hello Hello! I have lived in Fort Lauderdale for 18 years. I have been an idea factory since I was a little girl. Always creating things and imaginings. I have always been artistically blessed but as often occurs with so many whole are art-minded - life comes at you fast! For many years I strayed away from my colorful root and tried other things only to ultimately return to my true passion which is creating art. It feels great to return to my artistic outlet and to share the joy of painting and creating with others through my new business.

2.) How did the idea or concept of The Color Bubble come to life? The Color Bubble was birthed from a simple will to share. I am a self-taught artist. After the birth of my first child, I had a difficult time with postpartum depression and I returned to what I call my “creative root” as a way to cope. I had never sat before a canvas and painted before 10 years ago when I felt I was at my lowest. I started painting as an outlet and I got so much peace from it that I started making paintings, wall hangings, pillows, hand-painted button earrings, scarves and head-wraps as gifts to share with women who became a great support system for me. The sharing eventually grew into an entrepreneurial venture and I started offering paint classes as a service. I wanted a designated space and looked into existing franchisees as a way to own my own art studio. I found it all to be beyond my means financially and very daunting but I didn’t give up. The idea of a mobile unit came to mind because I wanted to take advantage of the “pop-up vendor” scene. It worked, and just in time! I launched The Color Bubble in the middle of the pandemic and it has emerged as an excellent option for small-group, specialized events that kids (and kids at heart) absolutely love!

3.)Tell me a little about the studio and what you offer? The Color Bubble is a fully self-functioning mobile paint studio. It is truly one-of-a-kind. We offer mobile paint parties for any occasion in the safety and comfort of your own home/space. We are also available as a “pop-up vendor” for large outdoor events. Most recently we have done pop-up vendor services for the Wynwood Art District and we have an upcoming event with Fort Lauderdale’s Mass Art District. We are fully equipped! We come onsite with music, canvases, aprons, easels, everything for a successful event. All parties are customizable. Eg: If a client wants a particular theme, I create custom art, I pre-stencil the canvases and I teach the “class.” The Color Bubble offers a unique, 5-star experience!

4.) What’s your favorite thing about The Color Bubble? My favorite thing about The Color Bubble is how patrons seem to just come alive. You see a different side of a person when they are in creative mode. Be it a kid painting a Pokemon, unicorn or just making glitter handprints; or families spending quality time with each other in an engaging activity, or adults returning to their “creative root” playing in paint - the glint of excitement is magical. That’s what The Color Bubble is about, it is our motto “bringing color to you” in our little way.
